Homeschooling in Utah

Maybe you are new to homeschooling or maybe you have recently moved to Utah.  You have found the right place to get the information you need to start or continue homeschooling in Utah.

Utah is currently a good place to be for a homeschooling parent. Utah's compulsory education laws require that children not enrolled in a public school be enrolled in a private school or that notice of intent to homeschool be filed with your local school district in the form of an affidavit.  But, what's next? As Christians, we should first seek the Lord and His wisdom from His Word. Then, using that as a guide, a good place to start is to write down a list of subjects and character traits that you wish to teach your child. Armed with this information, you are ready to seek curriculum and other information to assist you in reaching your goals. We trust the following information will help you as you begin the high calling of homeschooling.  Remember when the Lord gives us a desire to be obedient to His calling by homeschooling (Deuteronomy 6) you can be certain that He will provide the means to accomplish that task. As God remained faithful to His children throughout Scripture, He also will provide parents with the skills, knowledge, direction, wisdom and patience to teach their children.

On the following pages you will find Legal Issues affecting Utah homeschoolers, Frequently Asked Questions, and another option for homeschooling that doesn't involve contact with your school district.
